Saeid Zeiaei-Nafchi, DDS General Dentist
Ever since he was a child, Saeid Zeiaei-Nafchi, DDS has enjoyed working with his hands and has had a curiosity for science. This interest led him into dentistry, and now he has been helping patients achieve optimum oral health for 17 years.
When a patient visits Woodbridge Dental Associates, they can rest easy knowing that a highly educated dentist is ready to take care of their needs and treat them with personalized care. Dr. Zeiaei-Nafchi studied at West Virginia University, Morgantown where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery and Master of Science. The practice offers general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry, as well as multi-specialty services. This means they are often able to fulfill all their patients’ specialty dentistry needs in one location.
Dr. Zeiaei-Nafchi specializes in prosthodontics, which is the replacement of missing teeth with partial or full implants. He is one of only a few thousand dentists who practice this specialty across the United States.
He also recently added another concentration to his practice: Obstructive Sleep Apnea, or OSA, treatment. Dr. Zeiaei-Nafchi says dentists are in a unique position to help patients who suffer from OSA, a common condition associated with alarming health problems including heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes, acid reflux and more. What makes OSA so worrisome to Dr. Zeiaei-Nafchi is that sufferers stop breathing over and over throughout the night. His goal is to help them breath easier and get the crucial oxygen they need to function.
This led him to advance training with one of the nation’s top OSA experts. Specially trained dentists like Dr. Zeiaei-Nafchi treat OSA with one of an FDA-approved oral device that gently repositions the lower jaw to open the airway.
“Most of my patients come to me with snoring issues, complaining about how it affects their work and family life. I help them get a good night’s sleep, which then helps others who live in their household. A good night’s sleep is key to feeling less stressed, moody and cranky.”
Dr. Zeiaei-Nafchi is working hard to educate patients and referring physicians about the new treatment available to OSA sufferers. This is welcome news to patients who don’t tolerate the noise, discomfort or inconvenience of continuous positive airway pressure or CPAP for long-term treatment. The benefits of dental appliances are now recognized as a first option, not just for CPAP intolerant patients.
Dr. Zeiaei-Nafchi encourages anyone who has not been for a dental check-up in a long time to discover the difference with Woodbridge Dental Associates. “No matter how many years or what the circumstances are as to why you haven’t been to a dentist, we are here to address your oral health issues and to provide you with a customized treatment plan. We strive to make every patient feel comfortable and welcome. We want to educate you on how important dental care is to your overall health.”
